Completing a specialism in youth exercise gives me the flexibility to work with under fifteens and this means I can work with parents and their children in the same session, if needed. I also run a circuits club specifically for children.
I tailor exercises to suit their growing bodies and ensure that hydration and the right working temperatures are achieved during exercises.
Youth exercise vs. adult exercise
Responses to exercise and exercise guidelines for youth are not the same as they are for adults. Hormonal, biomechanical, psychological, and physiological differences exist and sessions planned accordingly for the right population.
These differences require the development of specific exercise training programmes that are specific for the youth population.
Learning, at a young age, that exercise and movement is not always linked to team sports and that you don't need to have good hand eye corordination is valueable in helping to prevent youth obesit.
